In August 2013, our two Sams took up the challenge of the 100 mile Prudential Ride London, risking life, limb, and punctures to traverse the Olympic road race course. In the process of training, and explaining to donors the reasons why they were fundraising for VST, they raised over £1,300.

‘I was incredibly privileged to be cycling for Village Service Trust. Although I hear Boris Johnson beat my finishing time, it was an absolute pleasure to be raising money for such a great cause while careering through the Surrey countryside on a warm sunny day. The main attraction for supporting Village Service Trust is that its small size and dedicated volunteer network means as much fundraising money as possible goes directly back into its life changing projects.’

On an early summer’s evening of May last year, the Willow Orchestra performed an evening of 1930s and 1940s classics. They donated not only their time and enthusiasm, but also raised an astonishing £2,000 in donations on the night along with £3,000 from ticket sales.
